LITRE METER IS MAIN UK DISTRIBUTOR FOR VÖGTLIN
UK flowmeter specialist Litre Meter (www.litremeter.com) has introduced a range of industrial flowmeters from Swiss manufacturer Vögtlin Instruments (www.voegtlin.com).
The instruments measure the flow of liquids and gases in a wide range of industrial and process applications worldwide. Litre Meter is now able to supply the full Vögtlin range of thermal mass and variable area flowmeters to UK customers.
For gas flow measurement applications, Vögtlin thermal mass flowmeters use heat to measure flow. Heat is introduced to the flow stream and the instrument measures how much heat is dissipated using temperature sensors. The Vögtlin Red-y series has an accuracy of +/- 1 per cent of full scale and models have a measurement range of between 100 norm millilitres per minute (mln/min) and 5,000 mln/min. The compact series is battery powered and has an LCD display, manual valve and alarm function.
Variable area flowmeters are robust and customisable. They offer a measuring accuracy of +/- 2 per cent to +/- 5 per cent, even in long-term operation up to a temperature of up to 100°C. The pressure of a fluid moves an internal float inside a glass tube along a linear scale enabling the flow rate to be calculated.
The Vögtlin product line complements the range of flowmeters built by Litre Meter in its own premises in Buckingham. The company offers a broad range of metering technologies suitable for virtually every liquid, gas or steam measurement application and has particular expertise in measuring low flow rates.
Charles Wemyss of Litre Meter said: “Litre Meter’s strength has traditionally been in flowmeters for particularly demanding situations, often with meters almost custom-designed and built for particular applications. Vögtlin gives our customers access to an off-the-shelf range of accurate and robust meters which meet the needs of a vast range of industrial and process applications.”

FORMER RUGBY PLAYER MATT HAMPSON THANKS COLOPLAST FOR CHANGING HIS LIFE
Former English rugby union prop Matt ‘Hambo’ Hampson has spent a day at Coloplast’s Peterborough office talking to staff about how one of their products has changed his life nearly seven years after he became paralysed from the neck down.
In 2005, Matt was training for an under 21 Six Nations match against Scotland when a scrum collapsed on top of him, dislocating his neck and severing his spinal cord. Seven years on and Matt is still discovering new ways of doing things and new products that can improve his day to day life. Last year Matt discovered Peristeen, Coloplast’s bowel management system and, after just three months of use, says it has changed his life.
Matt explains: “People take going to the toilet for granted. Nobody talks about it but we all do it. Thanks to Peristeen I am back in control of my bowels for the first time in nearly seven years. It has taken hours off my morning routine. I feel healthier on the inside and it shows on the outside too, my skin looks better and brighter.”
Matt has pledged to do all he can to raise the profile of Peristeen, as it’s vital for other people in his situation to know that there are products available that make a real difference.
Matt commented: “I’m going to tell as many people as possible in my situation about Peristeen. It has changed my life and could change their lives too.”
Sue Kernahan, Coloplast general manager, said: “Matt is such an inspiration and we are delighted that he is going to work with us to increase the awareness of Peristeen. At Coloplast we work hard every day, knowing that our products make a difference to people’s lives. To have someone come in and share their story with us and tell us, in person, that our product has changed his life, left many of us with tears in our eyes. It’s been such a humbling day.”
Sue Frost, senior market manager, added: “Peristeen has the potential to make a huge difference to so many lives. To have someone like Matt, a famous face with an amazing story, say that it changed his life, makes us even more proud of the work we do. It also gives us hope that we have found a new way spreading the word about what an amazing product Peristeen is. He is a great ambassador for the product and we look forward to working with him.”

LARKFLEET LAUNCHES INITIATIVES TO MAKE HOME-BUYING ‘EZY’
Local housebuilder Larkfleet Homes (www.larkfleethomes.co.uk) has launched a new package of initiatives aimed at making buying a house as easy and trouble-free as possible – while also cutting the cost.
The package has been named ‘Ezy options’ and includes:
• Ezy-exchange: Larkfleet could take a buyer’s existing home in part-exchange for a new Larkfleet home. The scheme means that the purchaser is not caught in a ‘chain’ of buyers and sellers and there are no estate agents’ fees for selling the existing property. • Ezy-move: Similar to part exchange but Larkfleet does not actually buy the existing home – instead it helps to sell it while reserving a chosen Larkfleet home. Larkfleet will pay all estate agency fees. • Ezy-share: Buyers can purchase a new Larkfleet home but pay only 85 per cent of the initial cost. Larkfleet will pay the remaining 15 per cent and the purchasers then have ten years to pay the company back – with no interest added to the cost. • Ezy-money: If buyers use the services offered by Larkfleet’s recommended financial advisers and solicitors to complete their purchase, Larkfleet will give them cheques to the value of £500 to use in its ‘Just for You Centre’ where they can choose accessories to personalise their home. Because Larkfleet’s recommended professionals are familiar with the company’s properties they can provide an exceptionally fast and efficient service. • Ezy-give: Young people buying their first home can get onto the property ladder earlier than would otherwise be possible if family or friends will lend them 20 per cent of the purchase price. The homebuyers will have a smaller mortgage at a lower interest rate and the relatives or friends lending the money will get a five per cent return on their investment. • Ezy-forces: Assists people from the armed forces to purchase a new home. Benefits include payment of a five per cent deposit, payment of up to £500 towards legal costs, carpets, turfed gardens and a £2,000 voucher to spend in the ‘Just for You Centre’.
Jason Colmer, sales director for Larkfleet Homes, said: “It is all about making it easy for customers to buy a home in a way that suits them.
“Within the Ezy range there are benefits to help in a huge range of circumstances, from first-time buyers to people downsizing or moving to the UK after years of service overseas with the armed forces.”
Larkfleet currently has several developments in the East Midlands and East Anglia. There are new Larkfleet homes for sale in the village of Eye near Peterborough, in Oakham in Rutland, and in Bourne, Donington and Deeping St James in Lincolnshire.
You can contact a sales adviser on 01778 391555 for more information on Larkfleet’s Ezy options or visit the website at www.larkfleethomes.co.uk.
Larkfleet Homes is part of the Larkfleet Group (www.larkfleetgroup.co.uk) based in Bourne, Lincolnshire, near Peterborough.
Terms and conditions apply to all the Ezy schemes.
